Chapter Eleven
My Adventures with Christ
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV)

PART ONE
Goals for the Year
List ten goals for (enter year)_______. List anything you want to change or accomplish for Christ. When you choose to walk with Christ, it will always benefit you. Think of this as a list of God's goals for you and as new road map to (enter following year)_______with Christ...

Pause for prayer (sign after praying):

Lord Jesus Christ God Almighty, You are the One who empowers me and shows me Your goals for me. Make this list, Lord, for Your honor and glory. Open up my whole being, body, soul and spirit, that I would know what You want of me this year. I thank You and I pray in Your name, Jesus Christ. So be it! Amen! Your child forever,

Jesus Christ, I will strive my best to accomplish these goals for Your honor and Your glory. I believe in Your promise to empower me along the way and to be there for me in every circumstance. I thank You and I pray in Your name, Jesus Christ. Amen! Your servant forever, x__________________________________

PART TWO
Letter of Goals
Take all of the goals you've laid out and put them together in a letter to God. Sign your letter once you're finished to seal your future in Christ.

Pause for prayer (sign after praying):

My Lord of all wisdom, grace, mercy, and favor, I give You all my goals and I ask that You would give me everything I need to change and to accomplish these goals for You. I realize that my goals may change and that I may add new goals as the year goes on. I know that the closer I get to You, the more things will change. Therefore, my main goal will always be to get closer to You and Your will. Not my will but Your will be done, Father, for Your honor and glory. I thank You and I pray in Your name, Jesus Christ. So be it! Amen! Your servant forever, x________________________________

Changes for the Year
List, in your mind, 10 personal things you'd like to change for and with Christ during (enter year)_______. Write a personal letter to God asking Him for power to make these changes. Sign Your letter trusting that He will, indeed, empower You to change.

Pause for prayer (sign after praying):

Lord Jesus Christ God Almighty, Cover these goals with Your blood and give me whatever I need to get rid of any burdens or harmful addictions in my life for Your honor and glory. You are the One who empowers me to look at myself honestly and empowers me to remember that You love me. You are the One who empowers me to remember that these changes are for my good and that You will give me the strength to persevere. You are the One who empowers me to believe in Your promise that You are for me and not against me. You are the One who empowers me to remember and believe in Your promise that You will bless me abundantly when I choose Your will; when I choose to change my goals to Your goals. PART FOUR
How to Write Your Own Personal Letter to the Lord Jesus Christ God Almighty Daily

Pause for prayer (sign after praying):

Lord, You are the One who empowers me as I begin writing to You. Remind me to lay my heart out to You daily, knowing that You hear and answer. I believe and trust that You will guide me and move me to where You want me to be. I thank You and I pray in Your name, Jesus Christ. So be it! Amen! Your servant forever, x________________________________

1. Date your entry.
This shows you the day of the entry. When the answers to your prayers come, you can look back and see how long it took and recall what you went through to get it answered.

2. Choose a greeting.
When you greet God, you're calling upon Him to hear you (i.e. Dear Lord, My God, etc.). Remember to always give God worthy names. For example, when you write a letter to a loved one, you address them accordingly (i.e. sweetheart, honey, darling, wonderful, precious, kind, etc.). When you add a specific name to a letter, you are personalizing that letter and letting Jesus know how you feel about Him.

3. List needs, wants, praises, other people, concerns, and thank yous. These are daily things You bring to the Lord. You will list these things on the side of your letter and then you can pull them in as you're writing.

4. Remind yourself of what God has already done for you.
This empowers you to remember that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and do His will. Reminding yourself of what God has already accomplished in your life will give you hope for the future. Examples: Successful surgery, sober child, getting through disappointment, healing a broken heart, etc.

5. Sign your letter.
You don't send a letter off without telling who it's from. When you sign your letter, you're giving God  permission to do whatever He needs to do to accomplish what you're asking. Examples: With all my heart, Your child forever, With love, Your beloved, etc.
