New Identity:
My Inheritance as a Royal Child of God

After receiving salvation in Jesus Christ, we become new creations in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17). One of the main purposes of salvation is to embrace this new identity and receive it, as the old identity passes away. In Christ, we are able to fully cast off our old identity as children of the world. When we choose to accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we experience a new birth. When we accept Christ into our hearts, we are spiritually “born-again” into our new identity. God teaches us that we can only walk in this new identity if we believe in it. If we don't believe in it, it won't be real. We are to completely take on our new identity in Christ as a part of our inheritance as children of God. Once we choose to accept the truth of Jesus as the Savior of humanity, we become co-heirs with Him to the kingdom of God (Romans 8:17). Below you will find a list of incredibly powerful Scriptures that teach of our new identity as royal children of God in Christ. These Scriptures tell us exactly who we are as new creations.

We must remember that in order for these truths to blossom and in order to have victory in life, we must wholeheartedly believe in and trust in what God is saying about us. The enemy will constantly try to remind us of our past and try to make us feel worthless, but we know that he's been a liar from the very beginning (John 8:44). As we dwell upon and fill our hearts with God's truth, He is able to remind us of who we truly are in Him, and He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20) for His honor and glory!

As we diligently apply these treasured Scriptures to our lives, we experience the Lord's wisdom for right living and throughout our daily walk. As we take these glorious truths to heart and memorize and declare them, they accumulate power for us in every circumstance and we are able to succeed triumphantly in all things for the Lord's honor and glory. As we choose to humbly submit to God's truth by putting it deep down in our minds and hearts, we are actually giving Him permission to live in and through us. When we choose to humbly submit to God's powerful and living Word of truth, we are also giving Him permission to fulfill His will and promises in our lives. As we examine ourselves with the powerful and living Word of truth and of God daily, we commit our whole being to Him to do as He pleases. As we do this, God is able to live in us and through us wisely, righteously, justly, and prudently. God's powerful and living Word of truth gives us the instruction, knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to consistently remind us of our new identity in Him. We are “born-again” Christians and we have Jesus Christ’s Holy Spirit living in our hearts!

In Christ, God has given us many wonderful gifts (Ephesians 1:3) and an everlasting message of hope to pass on to all others (Matthew 28:19). By His Holy Spirit, He has empowered us to change our old character into His new character. Through this new character we receive true value, true purpose, true fulfillment, and true freedom now and forevermore. Through our new identity, we gain tremendous integrity and we are led in righteousness. Our new identity, as a part of our inheritance as children of God and as co-heirs with Christ, allows the fruit of His Spirit to flourish in us and through us (Galatians 5:22) for His honor and glory. We begin walking in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. We begin to think, talk, and act differently and many awesome things begin to happen in us and through us. Our new identity in Christ bestows eternal love, great protection, and amazing blessings and benefits far beyond what we deserve. It motivates and encourages us to venture out into the deep waters with God; it allows us to walk in the plan He has for us daily. As we cling to our new identity in Christ, we realize and actualize that we are deeply admired and richly valued by our Heavenly Father.

God's powerful and living Word of truth constantly renews our minds (Romans 12:2) and it enables us to believe in our new identity. We are able to put the old ways to death, that Jesus would truly live in us and through us for His honor and glory. Our new identity in Christ allows us to thrive abundantly and our lives take on a far greater quality. As we believe in who we are in Christ, we are empowered to keep His commands and statutes. God encourages and empowers us to worship Him with our lives. That means that we are to live for Jesus when we walk around, sit, lie down, and rise up. In Christ, we have the greatest hope and future known to man.

Embrace your new identity in Christ and see yourself through His eyes! Here are a few truths found in the powerful and living Word of truth and of God concerning your secure position in Jesus. Read them aloud and receive God's blessings now! Today is the day of salvation! The facts are generous and abounding—all we have to do is believe them!
