Chapter Fourteen
Surrender Prayer
This is a prayer that, through Christ, my husband and I developed. Holding hands, my family and I pray this prayer every morning before leaving the house. It takes approximately three minutes to pray aloud. That’s nothing compared to all of the wonderful things you’ll receive from this prayer all throughout the day and night. We believe that this prayer gives us God's full protection and guidance. We call it the “Surrender Prayer.” This prayer is intended to be prayed as a daily commitment to God. It is a tool to help you walk with Christ. Reading this prayer will only work if you believe it. Jesus said, “According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29) [KJV] Everything will not change overnight, but as You continually pray this prayer and commit to Christ, you will begin to see changes. As we grow and change, God's powerful and living Word of truth remains the same. When we are walking in the valley we can remember that God is always for us and never against us. He is always there for His children, pulling us through the valley with His love and power. We can count on His promise, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) [KJV] Not matter what, He'll get us through. All we have to do is believe and trust in Him by placing our lives in His hands. When you're in the valley remember to say, “Take over Lord. Go before me and make it all right for Your honor and glory.” As you pray this prayer, it's like practicing to remember a poem over and over. Soon enough, you'll get to know this prayer and it will be deep in your mind and heart. As you begin to understand and believe what you're praying, you will use this prayer as a powerful weapon against the enemy.
At the end of this prayer you will have the chance to sign your name as a declaration of commitment to the Lord. Your signature acts as a seal, with Jesus Christ, that each day you will give and dedicate yourself to Him, that He would use you to work miracles. Jesus Christ takes over and starts working everything together for good on your behalf because you have surrendered yourself to Him. He will never force His will upon You because He has given You the free will to choose. Remember, God is for you and not against you, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10) [KJV] Nothing is more powerful than reading, learning, and memorizing God's powerful and living Word of truth—The Holy Bible.
Surrender Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ God Almighty I come before You, Today I repent of my sins; (________________), (________________), (________________), (________________). I surrender and humble my body, soul, and spirit to You to do with as You please. Your will be done—not mine. I thank You for going before my family and I and for empowering us to be happy, forgiving, fair, kind, honest, grateful, thankful, compassionate, and obedient to You. I thank You for going before my family and I and for empowering us to live lives that are filled with the fruit of Your Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. I thank You for giving my family and I Your knowledge, understanding, wisdom, grace, mercy, favor, courage, strength, faith, anointing, hope, and guidance to do Your will. I thank You for going before my family and I and for empowering us to remove all addictions, all strongholds, and all generational curses in our lives. I thank You for going before my family and I and for empowering us to put on Your full armor; the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, and the Sword of Your Holy Spirit. I thank You for putting Your angels’ hedge of protection around my family and I and for covering us with the power of Your precious blood. I thank You for going before my family and for empowering us, with Your freedom and unconditional love—in body, soul, and spirit—to live healthy and fruitful lives unto You. I thank You for going before us and for doing all of these things for Your honor and glory this day and I pray all of this in Your name Lord Jesus Christ God Almighty. Amen. So be it (it will be done).
“All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:16-20) [KJV]
